Community Standards
AG-GENTECH — Bakewell App
Bakewell is a recipe-sharing community for homemakers, families, and baking enthusiasts. These standards keep the Gathering a welcoming, safe space for everyone. By using Bakewell's social features you agree to follow these guidelines.
Be Kind & Respectful
Treat fellow bakers the way you'd treat a guest in your kitchen. Encourage, share, and celebrate each other's creations. Constructive feedback is welcome; negativity is not.
Prohibited Content
The following content is not allowed anywhere in Bakewell — including recipes, comments, stories, cook photos, profile bios, and group posts:
- Hate speech & discrimination — Content that attacks or demeans individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Harassment & bullying — Threats, intimidation, targeted insults, or any behavior intended to harm or distress another user.
- Violence & graphic content — Content that depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or graphic imagery.
- Sexual or explicit content — Nudity, sexually explicit material, or suggestive content inappropriate for a general audience.
- Spam & deceptive content — Repetitive posts, misleading information, phishing links, or content designed to manipulate engagement.
- Illegal activity — Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities, including drug use, fraud, or intellectual property theft.
- Personal information — Sharing another person's private information (address, phone number, etc.) without their consent.
- Dangerous advice — Recipes or instructions that could cause serious harm if followed (e.g., promoting consumption of toxic substances as food).
How We Moderate
We take every report seriously. Here is how our moderation process works:
- Reporting: Any user can report a recipe, comment, story, or profile by tapping the report button. You can also block a user at any time to prevent them from seeing your content or contacting you.
- Review: Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours of submission.
- Action: If content violates these standards, we will remove it and notify the poster. Repeated or severe violations result in escalating consequences (see below).
- Confidentiality: Reports are confidential. The reported user will not know who filed the report.
Consequences
Violations are handled proportionally:
- First violation: Content removed and a warning issued via in-app notification.
- Second violation: Content removed and temporary suspension of social features (publishing, commenting, stories) for 7 days.
- Third violation or severe breach: Permanent suspension of social features or account termination.
Severe violations (threats, illegal content, doxxing) may result in immediate permanent suspension without prior warnings.
Appeals
If you believe your content was removed in error or your account was restricted unfairly:
- Go to Profile > Support within the app.
- Select "Report Abuse" as the request type.
- Include the word "Appeal" in the subject line and describe why you believe the action was incorrect.
- We will review your appeal within 48 hours and respond via email if you provided one.
Your Safety Tools
You have full control over your Bakewell experience:
- Block users: Blocked users cannot see your recipes, comment on your posts, or send you friend requests. Manage your block list from your Profile.
- Report content: Tap the report button on any recipe, comment, or profile to flag it for review.
- Control visibility: Choose who sees your published recipes — Public, Friends Only, or Private.
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Profile > Delete Account at any time.
Children's Safety
Bakewell is designed for a general audience. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please use the app with a parent or guardian. If we discover that a user under 13 has created an account without parental consent, we will deactivate the account and delete the associated data.
Changes to These Standards
We may update these Community Standards as our community grows. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of social features after updates constitutes acceptance.
